The Mockingbird Sings: Theatre Bristol tickets now on sale

BRISTOL -- Call time is set at Theatre Bristol as "The Mockingbird Sings" is scheduled to debut Sept. 12.Theatre Bristol will bring back to life a classic, original story, weaving a tale of love and the history of country music, leading up to the recordings and discoveries of Jimmie Rodgers, Pop Stoneman, The Carter Family and many others.The interconnected stage play tells the story of the famous 1927 Bristol Sessions, which are considered the "big bang" of modern country music.In the show, musician Eddie Snow is at a crossroads, influenced by generations of music through Grandmother Eula Mae Broome, verses the path laid out for him. The wishes of his mother, Lucy Snow, come up against the time he would rather spend playing music with Arlee McKerr and Royal Campbell.The second woven story tells the tale of King University student Mary Martha, who tires of Ray English, falling for "our Eddie" as narrator Susan McNabb calls him.
