LIBRARY NEWS: UCPL seeks comments on role of libraries

As we head into April, we're excited to celebrate all things libraries! National Library Week will take place April 19-25, a time to recognize the important role libraries play in our communities. We'd love to hear from you on social media to hear how libraries have played an important role in your life. We also want to highlight National Library Workers Day on April 14, which honors the dedicated staff who keep libraries running and serving the public every day. We hope you'll join us in celebrating by visiting the library and taking part in our programs. Homeschool Headquarters: Egg Dying ChemistryWednesday, April 1. at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.Registration is required to join us for a fun and educational homeschool program where participants will explore the science behind egg dyeing. This hands-on activity combines creativity with chemistry and is sure to be a colorful learning experience. Tech Help Drop-InsThursday, April 2, from 2 to 3 p.m.Need assistance with technology? Stop by during our drop-in session for one-on-one help with devices, apps, email and more. Staff are happy to assist with your tech questions. Library Closed for Good FridayFriday, April 3The library will be closed for the day as we observe Good Friday. We will reopen with regular hours the following day. Cookbook Club Saturday, April 4, at 11 a.m.Cookbook Club is back! Participants will prepare and share recipes from a selected cookbook while enjoying great food and conversation. Registration is required to participate. Tiny Tales Lap-Sit StorytimeMonday, April 6, at 9:45 a.m.This storytime is designed for babies and toddlers and their caregivers. Enjoy songs, stories and movement activities that support early literacy and bonding. Teen Painted Flower PotsTuesday, April 7, at 4 p.m. Teens are invited to get creative by painting and decorating their own flower pots.
