CSAC celebrating National Senior Center Month Hello everyone! We have some fun things happening at the Clinchfield Senior Adult Center in Erwin and I hope you'll join us. The Quilt Club will be meeting Aug. 26 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. for an afternoon of quilting, conversation and fellowship. September is National Senior Center Month; to celebrate we will be hosting a birthday bash on Sept. 24 to celebrate the theme and all our members. We are hosting a kickoff party to promote National Senior Center Month on Sept. 3, so be sure to join us to learn more. Visit our website for more information on National Senior Center Month. We will be closed Sept. 7 for Labor Day. Join us for a Cyber Security class and avoid fraud discussion at 10 a.m. on Sept. 10. Want to Become a Member?If you are 50 or older, we would love for you to become a member of the center. Our center is a place to make friends, stay active, try new things and enjoy time with others in our community. Membership is only $25 per year and some insurance plans such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, United and Humana may cover you. Bring your photo ID and insurance card and our staff will be happy to check for you. Membership PerksMembership gives you access to a variety of activities and opportunities including but not limited to:Day Trips: Ride our center bus for shopping, dining, outings and adventures.Fitness Room: Treadmills, weights, bicycles and more!Bingo: A favorite of our members.Congregate meals: Daily lunches for ages 60 and older. Served daily at 11 a.m. to all seniors.Veterans Food Truck and Veterans Service Officer: Free food for veterans, spouses, widows and widowers on the second Tuesday of each month at noon. Our Veterans Service Officer is available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday by appointment.
