CSAC slates apple pie baking class for Sept. 23

Hello everyone! We have some fun things happening at the Clinchfield Senior Adult Center and I hope you'll join us. September is National Senior Center Month. Tocelebrate we will be hosting a birthday bash on Sept. 24 to celebrate the theme and all our members. We will be serving pizza and birthday cake! The cost is $3. On Sept. 29, Chad Capps will be at the center giving a demonstration on how to deal with shoulder pain. The Creative Circle is meeting on Sept. 30, so bring your own project and supplies. Mark your calendars for October. We have many exciting things happening and you do not want to miss out. We will be closed for the Apple Festival on Oct. 2. We hope you enjoy the sights of our community and spend time with family and friends during the festival. On Oct. 22, we will be taking a trip to Knoxville for a scenic lunch cruise. Sign-ups will begin on Sept. 28. Spots are limited so be sure to grab one while you can. The cost is $100 per person. The Unicoi County Republican Party will host Ballroom Dance Lessons from 4 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 and 29 at the center. It is free to come so bring a partner or come on your own! Bring comfortable shoes (smooth leather or suede soles) and a desire to learn. These classes are provided to prepare for the Veterans Ball at the National Armory. &emsp;&emsp;&emsp;&emsp;&emsp;&emsp; Want to become a member? If you are 50 or older, we would love for you to become a member of the Clinchfield Senior Adult Center! Our center is a place to make friends, stay active, try new things and enjoy time with others in our community. Membership is only $25 per year and some insurance plans such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, United, and Humana may cover you. Bring your photo ID and insurance card and our staff will be happy to check. Membership PerksMembership gives you access to a variety of activities and opportunities including but not limited to: Day Trips: Ride our center bus for shopping, dining, outings and adventures.Fitness Room: Treadmills, weights, bicycles and more. Bingo: A favorite activity of our members.Congregate meals: Daily lunches for ages 60 and older. Served daily at 11 a.m. to all seniors. Veterans Food Truck and Service officer: Free food for veterans, spouses, widows and widowers on the second Tuesday of each month at noon. Our officer is available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday by appointment.
