Boot Juice to perform at Capitol on Oct. 8

The sounds of the band Boot Juice will fill downtown Erwin's Capitol Hall beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8. The Erwin Record spoke to band member Jessica Stoll about the band. "Boot Juice was formed in 2017 while Connor (Herdt) and I were river guides in Idaho," Stoll said. "Mostly the band was playing around campfires at that time but really got going in 2019 when we started touring and added horns to the sound," she added. Stoll said the band's lineup has grown and changed over time, until they landed on their current lineup. Stoll described the band's sound as rock and roll and Americana with a retro swing vibe backed up with a high-energy delivery. "Some of the musical influences draw from more horn-infused rock such as The Band, Little Feet, Talking Heads, Tedeschi Trucks Band and The California Honeydrops," Stoll said. "Though the influences are quite diverse at an individual level for each member," she added. The members of Boot Juice are Herdt, who hails from Auburn, California, on acoustic guitar and lead vocals; Stoll, also from Auburn, California, on vocals and mandolin; Brett Worley of Davis, California, on bass; Cody Saab of Chico, California, on drums; Rich Kearns of Arcata, California, on electric guitar, Rosie Mendoza of San Francisco, California, on trumpet; and Madison Armstrong of Sacramento, California, on saxophone. Stoll is also the band's visual artist. "Fans can expect a lively high energy show, with a focus on songwriting," Stoll said. "The world can be quite heavy, and we strive to bring joy and community to people's lives if even for a moment." Follow Boot Juice on Facebook and @bootjuicejams on Instagram, TikTok and Spotify.
